Fuel Prices Now a Huge Factor in Home Buying Decisions

The surging price of fuel and its effect on the family budget has become one of the biggest influences in where people are buying property according to RE/MAX WA Managing Director, Geoff Baldwin.
When coupled with the time taken to get from home to work and other regular destinations the price of the fuel required is being factored more and more into home buying decisions, he said.
Travelling time has always been a consideration for home buyers however people have tended not to think about fuel costs but with the cost of petrol and diesel fluctuating between dear and expensive the distance between home and work has become more of an influence on where people buy.
Just as large, high maintenance blocks have fallen out of favour, time poor buyers are also more and more likely to consider the “cost” of travel when choosing their new home.
