Eastern Staters now looking to Perth

With the Sydney and, to a lesser degree, Melbourne markets cooling down more and more investors are inquiring about Perth property due to the comparatively low prices, good returns and the potential for growth as our market begins to recover. Historically Perth starts to heat up when Sydney slows and respected projectionists and commentators are predicting that Perth is now offering the best scope for medium term capital appreciation than any other state or territory. Another attraction is the sheer variety of property on offer and the closeness to the CBD when compared to eastern states cities. Opportunities to buy properties whereby the rental income is covering the mortgage are another motivation for investors and whereby there are plenty of positive or neutrally geared properties available in WA, they don't exist in the east. Of course with the increasing activity by eastern states and overseas investors looking at WA, local buyers should be acting now if they are wanting to get in before pressure comes onto our prices.
